About me: I'm a 33 year old Architectural graduate whom enjoys running, cycling, kayaking, walking and spending time with my family. I began endurance sports later in life (25) with Mountain Biking, I then graduated to running and eventually purchased a road bike and that lead to Triathlon/Duathlon.
Sports: I've participated in pretty well everything going, Adventure racing, Triathlon, Duathlon, Half Ironman, running, Mountain Biking... (and that's just this season)!
Athletic Accomplishments: I've completed several Half Ironman events, but the biggest accomplishment I've had is my first Endurance Mountain Bike race - it was a 9 hour solo race up in Midland, I finished 8th overall and man I was zonked.
Athletic goals: My current athletic goal is to compete in a full Ironman event. My swimming sucks and is really the only thing keeping me from my goal.
My most catastrophic racing experience was: I was racing an 8 hour mountain bike race when I lost control and hit a tree. I was ok, but I had to ride my bike 4 kilometers with a mega-warped (taco'd) wheel!!
My most memorable racing experience was: My most memorable racing experience was Storm The Trent this year. I've never ridden in such conditions!! It poured rain so hard the entire day that I was mountain biking through water/mud puddles higher than my crank. It was nuts... yet amazing!!
Favourite footwear, clothing, or equipment: Ecco BIOM is my favorite footwear followed closely by my Salomon XT's. My favorite clothing is my Running Free Triathlon shorts. And I'm loving my Quintana Roo Seduza outfitted with Zipp 404's topped with my Giro TT Helmet. I also enjoy my Sony Walkman MP3 player for the training runs.
Favourite race: Bracebridge Half Ironman
Favourite race food: Pre Race: Banana's, Powerbar's, Gatorade and PB&J sandwiches;
Post Race: Taco Bell and Ju Jubes (don't ask).
